Pixar began in 1979 as part of the Lucasfilm computer division. In 1991 Disney and Pixar announce an agreement “to make and distribute at least one computer-generated animated movie.” Pixar begins work on the project that will become Toy Story, while continuing to produce commercials and other short materials, including spots for public television. Pixar has produced 21 feature films , beginning with Toy Story in 1995, which was the first-ever computer-animated feature film; its most recent film was Toy Story 4 2019.
